Pireeni's father, Dr. Sundaralingam, has flown out independently to Sri Lanka to
help with the medical effort in Batticaloa. Upon arriving in the country on New Year's
Day, he teamed up with the Tamil Rehabilitation Organization,
and is now co-ordinating their Eastern Province efforts.
Already, with a very small team of fellow doctors both from Sri Lanka and abroad,
he has been tending to thousands of affected people in shelters, orphanages and
refugee camps in the area most affected by the tsunami. We speak
to him every day and to give you an idea of what he's facing every day in his
daily rounds on his motorbike from place to place, we
present his daily journal here. You might want to use this

you follow his travels. He is based in the town of Batticaloa.
